NASUWT comments on secondary performance league tables

Commenting on the secondary school and college performance tables, published by the Department for Education (DfE) today, Chris Keates, General Secretary of the NASUWT, the largest teachers’ union in the UK, said:
“Every year the Coalition Government has changed the basis on which school performance is measured.
“It’s unacceptable that schools, teachers, parents and children are subject to this negative annual ritual.
“A recent poll of parents showed that punitive ranking of schools in performance league tables is not something which most parents rely on, when making judgements about a school.”
